AutoVu License Plate Recognition for Revenue Control

Why do paid-parking facilities rely on a paper-trail to collect revenues? Why does tolling need to cause traffic congestion? Because they both employ outdated technology. Today, the AutoVu license plate recognition system offers automated tracking for revenue control applications.

Mount AutoVu cameras at entrances or exits of parking facilities, at toll crossings or above highway lanes. AutoVu automatically collects license plates as vehicles drive by. No more lost tickets. No more inefficient use of personnel and no more traffic congestion. Know when a vehicle enters your property or uses your paid express lane, and collect the right fees.

Use AutoVu as a stand-alone solution or merge your LPR system with access control and video surveillance for a unified security platform. This is advanced technology.

Benefits

Unsurpassed Accuracy

AutoVu has some of the highest accuracy rates in the industry when it comes to license plate reads. Even vehicles travelling up to speeds of 140 MPH (225 km/h) will have difficulty escaping this advanced license plate recognition system. Thanks to AutoVu’s Fuzzy Matching feature, you can ensure that license plates are correctly identified. You won’t miss a beat with AutoVu.

User-Friendly

As part of Genetec’s unified security platform, the Security Center, AutoVu is very user-friendly. Use easy search functions to enable quick investigations. Click on a license plate read to display an image of the license plate, a color image of the vehicle as well as the date, time and location. And, use this as evidence. It is so simple, anyone can use the AutoVu LPR system.

IP Connectivity

Having an IP-ready solution means you get real-time monitoring and identification of vehicles. You don’t have to wait to find out when a vehicle entered your parking facility or toll road. Data is wirelessly transferred over an IP network so you can take immediate action if a vehicle of interest is spotted.

Easy to Install and Configure

Installing AutoVu is easy. Once the AutoVu Sharp cameras are up, you need minimal adjustments and configuration to get your system working. It’s a simple three-step process: install you cameras, configure your system and start tracking vehicles

Applications

Revenue Control for Paid-Parking Facilities

Reduce lost revenues caused by parking ticket losses. As a vehicle enters the parking facility and a ticket is dispensed, AutoVu captures the license plate number. Later, when the patron returns with a missing ticket, you can enter the license plate number into the AutoVu system. You find out exactly when the vehicle entered the lot and what fee is due.

Automated Tolling

Toll booths are a thing of the past with AutoVu. Install AutoVu cameras at toll crossings and as vehicles speed through, the plates are captured. The AutoVu system then sends this information to a third-party tolling management system. This toll system will associate an automated fee to the account of the vehicle’s registered owner.

Hardware

The AutoVu Sharp is the IP-based license plate recognition camera. This rugged LPR device precisely deciphers license plate numbers with some of the highest accuracy rates in the industry. With a wide field of view, the AutoVu Sharp also captures more imagery than the standard resolution camera.

The AutoVu Sharp LPR camera conducts processing on the edge. This means all the processing and analytics are done inside the unit itself, making the solution compact and easy to install. This license plate recognition camera captures license plates up to 140MPH (225km/h).

Features

SDK Integration : Integrate other software applications to fit with existing business processes with an advanced SDK. You can adapt the solution to your needs such as in airport parking ticketing or highway tolling applications. AutoVu also comes with an XML plugin so you can easily share information between systems without the efforts of a full integration.

Advanced Data-Mining and Reporting : You can conduct searches of vehicles based on factors such as date and time, complete or partial license plate numbers, one or more specific geographic areas. Or, search by the other data associated with the vehicle such as VIN, make, model or year. You can filter the results by date and time and geographic areas and print them for review.

Unified Video Surveillance : With the unified security platform, the Security Center, you can monitor live video feeds from a new or existing Omnicast video surveillance system along with LPR reads. You will get alerts of flagged vehicles from the AutoVu system. You can review video associated with LPR reads or hits from the same user-friendly interface.

Image and Time Capture : The system automatically records an image of the license plate, a color image of the vehicle as well as the date, time and location.

International Plate Reading Support : The AutoVu system can accommodate many different license plate shapes and formats. This device meets unsurpassed accuracy, regardless of the license plate style.

Fuzzy Matching : The AutoVu system uses a fuzzy matching algorithm to compensate for possible errors in the license plate read, including misread, added or removed characters. This increases the probability of positively matching the plate against a database.
