Automate awareness of abnormal behavior

Omnicast and BRS Labs AISight Technology Integration

AISight is a behavioral analytic software built, tested and proven in the field to enhance video surveillance by automating awareness of abnormal behavior. Taking visual input from either  live camera or recorded video feeds in the Omnicast IP video surveillance system, AISight autonomously learns what activities and behaviors normally occur in an environment or scene. With the integration of AISight and Omnicast, users receive real-time alerts of abnormal behavior so they can quickly respond to time-sensitive and critical events.

What Is Behavioral Analytics?

Behavioral Analytics™ leverages research on the learning and memory processes of the human brain and applies these processes to the analysis of visual data. The result is a new technology proven to autonomously identify abnormal behavior within the field-of-view of a surveillance camera in real-time. This enables security personnel to exponentially monitor more video in a more effective and fast manner.

Much like a human reacts to a new environment, Behavioral Analytics observes a scene through its “eyes” (Omnicast); learns the normal behavior in the scene through its “brain” (machine learning software); and responds to all abnormal behavior.

How Does AISight Work?

Building on a multi-patented framework of cognitive machine learning engines and computer vision, AISight provides a fully-automated, scalable surveillance solution that analyzes behavioral patterns, activities, and scene content without the need for heavy training, extensive system setup, or programming. Behavioral Analytics technology, the backbone of the AISight system, combines computer vision with machine learning to provide actionable intelligence through real-time, relevant alerting on abnormal behavior.

Genetec’s Omnicast IP Video Surveillance Solution with BRS Labs AISight

AISight is integrated with Omnicast version 4.7 or higher. Taking visual input from the Omnicast Server, AISight autonomously learns what activities and behaviors normally occur in an environment or scene. When AISight observes anomalous behavior, the software generates an alert and sends it to Omnicast in real-time. The system can be managed and monitored through Omnicast’s intuitive user interface when fully integrated. The installation process for AISight is minimal and simply requires the configuration of the video source for analysis. AISight begins observing and learning the minute the system is turned on. No coding of rules or triplines is required. No areas within the camera’s field-of-view are masked out.

BRS Labs AISight Features at A Glance

  • The Video Analysis Engine (VAE) uses input from Omnicast to create a 2.5D visual model of the scene, which it continuously refines over time to detect, track, and classify more behaviors and potential threats with greater accuracy.
  • The Machine Learning Engine (MLE) uses advanced learning technology based on human cognition to build behavior-pattern models called Hypocepts® (hypothetical concepts). The software recognizes normal scene elements and distinguishes them from anomalous behavior without human intervention.
  • The System Manager provides administrative functionality for multiple AISight analysis servers, controls how AISight issues alerts and to whom, and displays archived alerts.
  • AISight integration with Omnicast provides operators with real-time views and alert notifications, displays live feeds for closer analysis, and manages the frame-by-frame observations of objects and behaviors from any standard desktop computer.
  • Alert Directives enable security personnel to instruct AISight to alert on specific behavior even though it perceives this behavior as normal. This feature provides the user input and control that rules-based systems rely on, but without the cumbersome process of constructing zones, blocking out areas, or drawing virtual tripwires.

Ordering Information

BRS Labs

  • AISight ( 1 per video channel)
    Genetec Module for AISight

Genetec

  • 1 SDK connection per BRS Labs System Manager (Om-E-1S)
  • 1 Direct Show connection for each processed video stream (Om-E-1DSF)

When AISight begins observing a new scene it has not seen before, it learns what is normal about the new scene before it produces relevant alerts. When a scene changes to a position the cameras has seen before, AISight recognizes scenes it has already learned, searches its database (its "memories") for behaviors criteria to apply to the particular scene, and begins alerting on anomalies immediately.

In short, AISight delivers a fully scalable solution, provides total field-of-view analysis and provides manageable and relevant data with little human input.
