Security 2012 Exhibition & Conference was held last week in Sydney, Australia and Genetec was excited to be part of this event. In addition to showcasing our market-leading security solutions, we also took part in their seminar program where our CEO, Pierre Racz, spoke about the challenges faced in city-wide surveillance deployments.

Similar to Steve Bocking who briefed us on his new role within the organization in last week’s post, myself I have relocated to Bangkok and assumed a new role in the organization – where my mandate will involve driving our marketing initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region.

I have to say, this was my first time at a security event in this part of the world. And, like other security industry events we have exhibited at in North America, Latin America and Europe, there was a lot of buzz around the Genetec solutions offering, an engaged customer base visiting us with new projects and new challenges, and a motivated Genetec crew demonstrating our solutions.

Many prospects from different vertical markets visited the booth: law enforcement, retail and government, just to name a few, as well as people from the consultant community. Everyone we met was very enthusiastic about our unified platform (the Security Center) and the integration possibilities that it offers in their respective segments. After an eventful first day on the show floor, meeting and greeting existing and potential customers, we headed out on a boat cruise around Sydney Harbour to celebrate Genetec’s 15 years of innovative solutions with some of our valued customers and partners. This event was organized in collaboration with Axis Communications, EMC, and Open Platform Systems, our value-added distributor for the region.
