Omnicast’s™ Federation makes city-wide surveillance a reality by allowing multiple independent Omnicast™ systems from numerous organizations to be managed as if it were a single unified system.  Through arrangements between the various parties, administrators can determine which cameras as well as what level of functionality they wish to allow the other organizations to attain. The Federation offers organizations the opportunity to optimize their resources and ensure the most effective security coverage by allowing security to transcend organizational peripheries and geographic boundaries.

The MetaData Engine facilitates the management of complex metadata associated with video and audio sequences. Data from multiple sources, such as a video analytics, license plate recognition, access control and other systems is collected by the MetaData Engine, indexed to the relevant video/audio sequence(s) and displayed in real time through Omnicast's Live Viewer application. Metadata can be displayed as a video overlay or in a side window, to provide the system operator with a unified source of security information. The operator can also access metadata and related video/audio sequences in the Archive Player. More intelligent searches can be performed creating effective data retrieval and improved event assessment and response.

Omnicast’s™ failover and redundant archiving features ensure that users have access to all live and archived data at all times. The Omnicast™ system can be configured to ensure that in the event of a server failure, a failover archiver or directory can automatically assume all the functions of the failed component while maintaining the integrity of all data. In addition, systems can be equipped with a redundant archiver that automatically records in duplicity, all or only high priority camera feeds, adding yet another layer of security to the system. These technologies provide users with peace of mind that their system will always be up and running.
