Genetec’s Technology Partner Program supports the integration of solutions from many different types of technology partners. Here are the categories of technology partners eligible to apply for the program:

How Will Technology Partners Benefit?

Edge-Device Partners

Extensive Integration Development – The program offers technology partners a number of different integration options. Depending on resources and requirements, Edge Device partners can select which integration type best suits their needs.

Dedicated Development Support – For Edge Device partners who take the lead on the integration development themselves, Genetec has dedicated support staff available to help guide them through the entire process.

Recognized Genetec Certification – Certification process is applicable to Edge Device partners only. Whether it is a completely new integration taken on by the technology partner or an existing partner looking to certify the compatibility of a newly released software version, being part of the partner program guarantees access to Genetec validation resources for compatibility testing and official certification.

All Technology Partners

Efficient Integration Management – An assigned program manager is dedicated to overseeing all major steps in the integration development process for edge-device partners, including a mapped out timeline, as agreed upon by both parties. The technology partner program manager will also be the main point of contact for all other partners and offer guidance and support through the integration process.

First-Level Technical Support – Once integrations for technology partners are completed, Genetec will offer complete technical assistance support for all of our technology partners’ certified products. We will work in tandem with their technical support representatives to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Increased Visibility – Through collaborative efforts, the program will offer joint marketing opportunities for both parties, such as website listings, lead generation, trade show collaboration and much more, resulting in increased exposure to partners enrolled in the program.

Options for Integration Development

To accommodate the different integration needs of our technology partners, the program is designed around a flexible integration development structure, offering a number of options based on depth of integration, time and resource availability.

The Generic Extension, available for video device integrations only, is the most basic option with the advantage of ensuring the fastest development time. Devices which are integrated using this option will be accessible in Omnicast for live viewing, video recording and archive playback. The integration with PTZ functionality is available as a separate option.

The Generic Plus Extension, available for video device integrations only, combines the benefits of a faster development cycle with a deeper level of integration. Video devices supported through the Generic Plus Extension offer, in addition to video streaming and recording, basic device and video configuration functions, as well as some more advanced features such as PTZ control and serial port support.

The Full Extension is the most complete integration option. Partners who opt for this type of integration will have a branded extension within the Genetec solution with a customized user interface, as well as support for advanced and device-specific functions such as firmware upgrades. This integration option is only available for existing edge-device partners.

The Genetec Extension, available for video device integrations only, is an alternative to these other forms of integration, suited for partners who have the resources to do the integration development themselves, and is based on Genetec’s protocol. If an edge-device partner implements support for this protocol, it will be automatically recognized and supported by Omnicast under the edge-device manufacturer’s name. This option allows partners to control their development and release schedule in full alignment with their product releases, events or promotions.

Welcome to Genetec’s community of technology partners.

Any third-party system integration is possible with the use of Genetec’s Software Development Kit (SDK). Partners are fully responsible for the development of the SDK integration and Genetec will provide technical support during the development phase.

Join Genetec’s Technology Program

The integration development process and joining Genetec’s Technology Partner Program is simple.

1. Contact tech_partner@genetec.com and express interest in this integration option.
2. Once mutual benefits of the integration for both technologies are validated, Genetec’s technology partner program manager will provide you with information on our SDK integration option and a short questionnaire about the specific integration you  are looking to complete.
3. If the process is still of interest to both parties, you will be asked to to sign an SDK-specific license and non-disclosure agreement.
4. Once all necessary information and agreements are transferred, you will be given the opportunity to start the SDK integration.

Infrastructure Equipment Integrations

Infrastructure equipment partners have the option to participate in a benchmarking and self-certification process. Technology partners who complete the benchmarking process provide Genetec with information to better guide customers to the most optimal solution.

1. Contact tech_partner@genetec.com and express interest in this self-certification process. 
2. Genetec’s technology partner program manager will provide information, tools and guidelines to help you through the self-certification process. 
3. Once you complete all necessary testing, a detailed report is submitted to Genetec.
4. Genetec will store the results and make them available to all members of our sales, sales engineering and support teams.
