Key Market Applications

Data Centers:

In data centers, the Keyguard Management System plays a crucial role in maintaining physical security and operational accountability of the Server Racks

  • Controlled Access to Server Racks: Each key that unlocks a server cabinet or secure room is stored in a tamper-proof Keyguard unit. Only authorized personnel can retrieve these keys using biometric authentication, RFID cards, or PIN codes.
  • Audit Trails and Real-Time Monitoring: Every key transaction—who took it, when, and for how long—is logged. This helps data center managers track access patterns and investigate anomalies
  • Integration with Security Systems and Alarms: Keyguard can be linked with Access Control System to restrict the exit if critical key is taken out. If a key is taken out for more than approved time, alerts are triggered automatically.

DRDOs:

In organizations like DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), where national security and sensitive research are paramount, the Keyguard Management System is used to enforce strict control over physical access to high-security zones, labs, and equipment.:

  • Controlled Access to Classified Areas: Keys to secure labs, weapons storage, or communication hubs are stored in tamper-proof Keyguard cabinet which is accessible only to authorised personnels using MFAs like biometrics, RFID, and PINs.
  • Audit Trails for Accountability: Every key transaction is logged with user ID, timestamp, and duration. This is critical for maintaining a chain of custody and meeting internal and external audit requirements.
  • Time-Bound and Role-Based Access: Access can be restricted based on duty hours, project roles, or mission-critical timelines. This ensures that even authorized personnel can only access keys when absolutely necessary.

ISROs:

In an organizations like ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), where precision, confidentiality, and security are non-negotiable, the Keyguard Management System is used to tightly control access to critical infrastructure and sensitive areas. Here's how it typically supports ISRO’s operations:

  • Access to High-Security Zones: Keys to satellite control rooms, propulsion labs, clean rooms, and telemetry stations are stored in RFID-secured Keyguard cabinets. Only personnel with the right clearance can retrieve them using multi-factor authentication like biometrics, RFID cards, or PINs.
  • Audit Trails for Compliance and Investigations: Every key transaction is logged with user ID, timestamp, and duration. This is essential for maintaining accountability and supporting internal audits or post-mission reviews.
  • Integration with Surveillance and Access Control: Keyguard can be linked with ISRO’s broader security infrastructure—like biometric gates, and intrusion detection systems—for a unified command and control setup.
  • Tamper Detection and Alerts: Any unauthorized attempt to access or manipulate the system triggers real-time alerts to the security command center.

Oil Refineries:

In organizations like BPCL, HPCL type of refineries, where security is of utmost importance, the Locker Management System is used to manage personal belongings/assets of individuals in locker cabinets on time shift basis. Here's how it typically supports refineries operations:

  • Dynamic Locker Allocation - Contract workers often work on short-term projects or multiple shifts. LMS enables temporary locker assignment without manual intervention. After shift completion, lockers are freed by contract workers working is first shist and made free for the next batch, reducing administrative overhead.
  • Secure Storage of Personal Belongings - Contract labour typically carries personal items (wallets, phones) that cannot be taken into hazardous zones. LMS provides secure, traceable storage, minimizing theft and loss. Even visitors can use Locker Management System to keep valuable assets like laptops in bigger sized cabinets against the smart cards issued to visitors, so that only locker can be opened only against authorized smart card of the visitor

Features & Benefits

Features:

Keys/Assets are held securely and will be issued only to authorized users only.

No need to enroll users in Keyguard/Locker System again. The users and system admins from Genetec Platform are synched in Keyguard System.

Keys/locker operations can be monitored in Genetec Security Center. Users in possession of certain keys/lockers can be specifically denied access or granted access in specific areas.

Benefits:

From Genetec security center, all key/locker transactions, late return of keys/late free of lockers, overdue keys/lockers can be monitored for any action.

Solution Architecture

Keyguard Cabinets storing the RFID based key fobs with actual Keys or RFID based Locker Cabinets storing the personal assets of individuals, are communicating with Godrej Keyguard/Locker Server. The Server basically handshakes with the Plugin(developed), which sits in Genetec Security Center Platform getting access to Genetec Access Control System.

Hence, all the existing Access Control Users can readily use Key/Locker Management System as well.

Moreover, the transactions of the Keyguard/Locker cabinets can be easily monitored through Genetec Platform
