Smart Spaces Solution Overview

The Smart Spaces Visitor Management integration allows a client's Genetec System to talk to our white-label Visitor Management system, allowing building visitors secure and touch-free access via a generated QR code.

Our Visitor Management System provides a seamless, user focussed experience, allowing for ease of entry and exit for your visitors with minimum contact with surfaces of the front of house staff.

Visitors Management is just one part of the wider Smart Spaces platform, and our integration with Genetec allows for a best-in-class experience for both our platform administrators and the end user. Because our platform is completely in sync with Genetec users can benefit from a number of other integrations, such as connecting visitor management to Office 365 calendars, providing SMS alerts to hosts and visitors, or integrating with Active Directory for user authentication.

Our rules engine allows us to drive further smart integrations to further the user experience, such as adding room or desk booking facilities to the visitor management process or providing statistics on the number of visitors to the building, either via a live dashboard or historically. Our system also provides a complete audit trail of who has entered the building, at what time, and authorized by whom, with the ability to immediately cancel QR codes, which is reflected with Genetec.

Solution architecture

Our web-based, cloud/hosted solution connects via a secure VPN connection to the On-Site Genetec server. VPN traffic is encrypted in addition to the SSL encryption on the Genetec side. When a visitor is created in our system, we use the Genetec SDK to post this information into the local Security Centre solution. Any modifications to the visitor record in Smart Spaces is synchronized. Visitor QR codes can be activated or disabled through our system, again synchronized with the local Genetec install. Synchronization is two-way, for example when a user leaves and checks out on the Genetec side, this is reflected in Smart Spaces.
