TBS BIOMANAGER Solution Overview

The Seamless Integration allows Security Center to extend its access control platform with the high performing and scalable biometric subsystem from TBS.  This software architecture integrates biometrics on system level rather than on single device level.

With this integration, Security Center customers can easily enhance their access control projects by adding biometrics - fully managed from a single platform while continuing to use Security Center as the main interface. Security Center remains the primary access control solution and user interface for operators.

Integration enables automatic synchronization of the master cardholder database from Security Center to BIOMANAGER. Any user changes made in Security Center are seamlessly reflected in TBS via the SyncTool. Biometric enrollment can be carried out directly from the Cardholder window in the Security Center interface, thanks to the EnrollPlugin integration. Cardholders are authenticated through TBS devices, while access rights are verified by Genetec controllers via OSDP interface which in turn creates access events within Security Center.

Once enrolled, biometric data of cardholders are stored exclusively in the TBS server database. The TBS server ensures automatic data synchronization of cardholder data to all devices on the network where they have access privileges. If a cardholder is deleted, their biometric templates and access rights are removed.

By abstracting from the biometric details, the TBS approach integrates biometrics into Security Center on a system level. Installers and operators do not need to care about details of biometric implementation, instead they can focus on data management. TBS acts as an independent biometric subsystem by hosting all biometric information and processes. Thanks to this universal approach customers can select from a wide range of biometric devices and combine multiple technologies (e.g. fingerprint and iris) in a single installation.

The TBS biometric solution can easily be added to the existing infrastructure (network, server) of the customer, saving costs and installation time.

Solution Architecture

TBS BIOMANAGER is a biometric server software to control and manage users and TBS clients from a central web server-based installation. It is integrated as a biometric subsystem with Security Center software.

SyncTool is a Windows Service that automatically synchronizes cardholder data from Security Center to BIOMANAGER. It includes a system tray applet that allows monitoring of service status, viewing session logs, and triggering specific actions. SyncTool utilizes the Platform SDK from Security Center and the Public REST API from BIOMANAGER. The Security Center software holds the master database of cardholders and TBS database will be synchronized to reflect master content.

EnrollPlugin integrates the TBS biometric enrollment functionality directly into the Security Center GUI. Available as an option in the Cardholder window, it enables operators to perform biometric enrollments directly from Security Center - supporting both central enrollment via USB Stations and remote enrollment on connected TBS devices. It is implemented using the Workspace SDK from Security Center and the .NET SDK (BCS) from BIOMANAGER.
