Precision-based search increases efficiency

You’re always looking to close cases faster—and more accurately. The latest Genetec Cloudrunner™ update runs precision-based searches in specific geographic areas. This way, you can visualize post-event reads on a map. Just click the ‘Report’ tab in the Vehicle-Centric Investigation System (VCIS) to get started.

What does this mean?

It means you can narrow your search by vehicle characteristics and choose exactly where you want to investigate. The best part? You don’t need to manually select Cloudrunner cameras based on their given names using the ‘cameras’ filter. Instead, use different mapping search tools, such as a polygon tool, to select the region. This helps ensure that you don’t miss any cameras when reviewing past data.

Once you’ve selected a region and applied filters—like plate, color, or vehicle type—the map will show visual cues immediately. On the left-hand side, all the reads will be listed in tile view, and on the map, a count of results per camera within the parameters defined will be provided. When you’ve found the vehicle you’re looking for, you can then track driving patterns and behaviors over time. It’s a great way to gain valuable investigative insights.

Expand investigative reach

When conducting investigations, the more information you have, the better. The new ‘Cameras’ tab on the Cloudrunner platform lets you view where Cloudrunner cameras are available.

What does this mean?

Available Cloudrunner cameras can be put into three groups:

  • An organization’s cameras
  • Partner cameras
  • Potential partner cameras

When working within a specific area, you can check the ‘Cameras’ tab to see where Cloudrunner cameras are available without delay. Found a partner camera instead? Request access in just a few clicks*. This tab also supports stronger collaboration across communities during investigations.

*Individual organizations have cameras as ‘discoverable’. Every end user can decide whether their cameras should be discoverable or not. Cloudrunner does not showcase any cameras that have not been tagged as ‘discoverable’ by their tenant owners. Furthermore, partnership requests can only be made by tenant admins.

To save time, the new ‘Cameras’ tab lets you flag potential partners directly to system administrators. They can then send access requests quickly. As for the map view in the 'Report' tab, the polygon tool allows for quick selection and precision during investigations.
