The first year subscription of Genetec Advantage is automatically added to quotes to streamline the purchasing experience.

Genetec University
The Advantage specialized experience provides customers with basic operator training courses for Security Desk, helping them automate the onboarding and training of their operations.
Operator chat assistance
Customers can use the operator chat embedded with the LMS to get basic assistance and answers to quick “how to” questions surrounding Security Desk. This chat does not require certification and will provide direct access to the Genetec Support Team.

Technical certification training
Customers will gain a voucher for a complete Technical certification training specific to end users, allowing a power user or IT Admin to receive training and be certified to access Genetec support by priority phone and chat support and GTAP. This will ensure a 3-way collaboration between the integrator, the customer, and Genetec to speed up the issue resolution process.

Changes regarding software license connections and contracts
1. Advantage auto activates 90-days after license creation
Invoicing
- License and Advantage for new systems and add-ons will continue to be invoiced upon license fulfillment.
Advantage effective date
- The Advantage contract will be effective upon license activation or 90 days after license creation, whichever occurs first.
Effective Date: 1st February 2024
2. 2 and 4-year Advantage term
- 2- and 4- year Advantage terms will be made available when needed for new systems and renewals.
- Portal will support 1,3 and 5 year Advantage contract terms, for other terms, please contact your Genetec Channel Sales Specialist.
- For add-ons on 2- and 4-year Advantage contracts, this can be done directly on the portal.
Effective Date: 1st February 2024
3. Add-on proration
- Proration on add-ons will be calculated based on the number of days left in your original contract term.
- Advantage for add-on licenses is charged based off the price of the original contract term value. For example, if a 5-year Advantage was bought as the original contract term, add-ons will be prorated based off the 5-year price.
- If you are experiencing issues with your add-on quote, please reach out to your Genetec Channel Sales Representative.
Effective date: This change is already in effect. Modifications to quote layout is being done to provide better clarity, this update will apply from 1st March 2024.
