Reducing investigation times and optimizing operations
Learn how the Banque de Luxembourg unified it security operations to strengthen its resilience against digital and physical threats.

The company
Banque de Luxembourg, founded in 1920, is one of the oldest and most trusted financial institutions in the Grand Duchy, operating in several locations in Luxembourg and Belgium. With 1,200 employees, the bank stands out for its solid banking tradition and its commitment to excellence and social responsibility, as demonstrated by its BCorp certification obtained in 2023.
The challenge
Faced with rapidly evolving threats, both physical and digital, Banque de Luxembourg needed to modernize its security management to effectively protect its assets and those of its customers. To achieve this, the bank needed to unify various security systems, such as video surveillance, access control and intrusion detection, into a centralized platform. In addition, it had to meet the growing requirements in terms of digital threats and data protection, while improving operational efficiency and incident management.
The solution
A centralized management solution for a unified view
In 2010, Banque de Luxembourg moved to an IP-based video surveillance infrastructure, adopting OmnicastTM for its ease of use and advanced features. The FederationTM functionality was also crucial in centralizing the management of security systems across all of the bank's Belgian and Luxembourg sites, providing a consistent overview and simplified management
Comprehensive coverage with unified security technologies
In 2018, the bank expanded its use of Genetec solutions by adding the Synergis™ access control system. It later integrated additional technologies, including intrusion detection, AutoVu™ automatic license plate recognition (ALPR), Sipelia™ for video intercom, and KiwiVision™ for video analytics. Soon, it will also implement Genetec Mission Control™ to streamline incident response and enhance security operations.

"Genetec has always been able to adapt to meet our needs by integrating new technologies and constantly improving its systems."
Frédéric Mayer, Head of Physical Security, Banque de Luxembourg
Results
Genetec has enabled Banque de Luxembourg to transform its security management, notably through artificial intelligence tools and automated processes. These technologies reduce the time required for investigations and audits, while optimizing security operations. The centralized platform also provides a coherent overview of the bank's security infrastructure, improving its overall efficiency.
