Lynx Solution Overview

Lynx is a network based duress and emergency notification system. Utilizing an extensive catalog of input and output devices, the Lynx system can maximize situational awareness for security, management, and the general population of your organization.

There are several gunshot detection systems available, however notification that a gunshot has occurred still remains a problem for most facilities. With the Lynx integration into Security Center, a gunshot detection Alarm can immediately notify security on patrol through the radio and give instructions to employees via pop-up notifications on all computers. 

Hospitals have the highest rate of workplace violence of any industry. To prevent repeat offenses, many institutions are turning to license plate readers to keep track of who comes on site. With the Lynx integration, key individuals can receive a phone call or get a SMS text message when a Security Center Alarm is triggered by a known offender driving onto the hospital grounds.

A sense of workplace safety is key to employee retention. Lynx keyboard alarms can trigger an Alarm in Security Center that displays a camera feed of the location where the duress was activated.

Solution Architecture

All communication between the LynxGuide server and the client software and hardware originates from the clients. Hardware and software clients open a TCP socket to the LynxGuide server on ports 10117-10121. Port 443 is used to manage the system through the web interface. The LynxGuide server uses the Genetec WebSDK for all network communication to Security Center. These ports are configurable in Security Center.
