Q&A with our in-house transit security specialist

In this short Q&A, Shawn Enides tells us the main reason why some organizations are holding back from IP.

Shawn Enides is our resident mass transit security specialist. He’s a part of the business development team here at Genetec and is our go-to guy for information on things like onboard surveillance, securing platforms and buildings, and improving operations and passenger experiences.

We caught up with Shawn a few weeks ago to chat about what he sees as the current security challenges and opportunities within this industry. During this interview, Shawn told us why education—or the lack of it—is the main factor holding some businesses back from moving to IP video surveillance.

He also explained why government mandates and information sharing are motivations for transit agencies to finally ditch analog technology for good.
