Video analyics at the edge

Video analytics is an important enabler of any strategy to substantially improve levels of security, as well as offering clear business advantages beyond security.

Video analytics acts as the 'brains' of a security system, using metadata to add sense and structure to captured video footage. In effect, each network video camera becomes smart, enabling them to understand what they're seeing and alerting guards to any potential threats the moment an alarm rule is met, significantly increasing security levels. They can even decide which information to stream to reduce network strain.

The integration of video analytics events in Security Center provides users with advanced notification of potential security risks.

With the support of video analytic metadata objects can be highlighted with overlays based on the Bosch camera analytics.
(Security Center 5.6GA and higher).

Integrated forensic search capabilities provide customers the ability to rapidly find specific events when investigating recorded video. (Bosch VSDK needs to be installed on the client machines).

Smarter video systems go beyond security

Intelligent cameras can provide all kinds of statistics in the form of metadata. Bosch cameras featuring built-in video analytics also enable a scene to be analyzed for reasons that go far beyond security. Making it possible to make smarter business decisions, reduce costs and increase efficiency with a return on investment that can be measured through tangible business results.

We believe that every business should be able to take advantages of these advances in technology - without the need for additional investment or a license fee. Which is why all cameras as of the IP 4000i series now feature on-board video analytics as standard. And because every business is different, we can tailor our analytics solutions to meet your exact needs.

Essential Video Analytics

Essential Video Analytics is the ideal analytics solutions for small and medium businesses, large retail stores, commercial buildings, warehouses and logistics depots. It can be used for advanced intrusion detection (such as loitering alarms and identifying a person or object entering a pre-defined field), enforcing health and safety regulations such as no-parking zones, detecting blocked emergency exits or objects that have been left behind. Essential Video Analytics is available as standard in all IP 4000i to IP 6000i cameras.

Intelligent Video Analytics

Intelligent Video Analytics offers the ultimate in built-in video analytics and is specifically designed for the most demanding environments. This state-of-the-art solution is ideal for mission-critical applications like perimeter protection of airports, critical infrastructures and government buildings, border patrol and traffic monitoring (e.g. wrong-way detection, traffic counts, and parked cars). Intelligent Video Analytics can do everything that Essential Video Analytics does.

No false alerts

It also has the unique ability to perform video content analysis over large distances and differentiate between genuine security events and known false triggers such as snow, wind (moving trees), rain, hail, and water reflections that can make video data more difficult to interpret. They are also extremely resistant against shaking caused by punishing winds, city traffic or bicycles parked against the camera pole. Intelligent Video Analytics is available as standard as of the IP 7000 series.

Features and benefits

Application example: In the retail industry, video surveillance usually forms the basis of a business' security system. With Essential Video Analytics built-in as standard, retailers are able to re-purpose the massive amounts of streaming data from their security cameras that would otherwise have been redundant.

Analytics can also be used to ensure that no one enters or leaves the retail shop using the emergency exit. The camera can also trigger an alarm in case the emergency exit is blocked by an object – increasing the safety of customers and employees.
